Mohawk Valley Christian Singles Connection

Thank you to all of you who attended our first gathering of the Mohawk Valley Christian Singles Connection.  What a great night! We enjoyed meeting new friends, playing a few games, sharing some creative date ideas, and we were amazed and entertained with the illusions of GIIC.  We hope you enjoyed yourselves, and have fun with the great prizes that were won.  As we mentioned, we want this to be a group of fellow believers from Rome and the surrounding communities who can get together in a safe, fun environment and fellowship together, to grow in relationships with one another and with God.   We would like to see this as an ongoing, monthly opportunity for singles to get together and grow these relationships.  We are still contacting churches in the community to get more gatherings scheduled, but until then, we would like to invite you to play volleyball and challenge yourself with a climbing wall at Delta Lake Bible Conference Center, 6420 Pillmore Dr. Rome, NY 13440 Friday April 24^th from 7pm-9pm-ish.  Tell your friends about this, and keep your eyes open for the Mohawk Valley Christian Singles Connection on Facebook (hopefully by early next week).  We will not be posting the portraits on the Facebook page that were taken the night of our gathering, but we will e-mail you a copy to put on your own Facebook page if you would like. 

Our God is a God of relationships, and Christians need to have sisters and brothers in Christ who they can build friendships with.  We had some “Creative Date Ideas” at our gathering, but these ideas would be fantastic for group fellowship any time.  We would like the Facebook page to be a platform where you can find brothers and sisters in Christ who have similar interests as you, set up impromptu gatherings, and really connect with one another.   Thanks again for joining us!  A reminder of some great ideas for gathering for fellowship follows:

First and third Friday of each month The Alternative meets at Rome Alliance Church for an alternative way to  meet friends, worship God and study his word. (Note the above change for 4/3)

Movie Night

Come get connected with Christians from across the Mohawk Valley!  If you are college-aged to age 40 we’d love you to join us for fun and fellowship. 

We will be watching live performance DVDs of David Pendleton, Master Ventriloquist, and part 2 of Jeff Allen’s Happy Wife-Happy Life…Revisited on  the church’s 100” movie screen with surround sound! 

Free admission and refreshments: Theater-style popcorn, candy, soda  and snacks.  Bring along a folding chair for added viewing comfort.  Childcare during the movie can be pre-arranged by calling the church office by Thursday of movie night at 315-336-8090.  We will meet at Sam’z Eats and Sweets, 8200 Turin Rd. following the movie for further fellowship.  See you there!
