From April 11-17^th a team of about 30 teens and adults affiliated with the Rome Alliance Church will be taking a mission trip to Houston, Texas to help people clean up after Hurricane Ike – one of the most damaging storms ever to hit the U.S.  We’re going with a mission agency called Adventures in Missions.  Rome Alliance went to Mexico with AIM a couple of years ago and AIM does a great job of planning for the trip and helping us while we’re on the trip.  The Mexico team saw God at work on their trip to Mexico, in our preparation, in our teams, and while we were on the trip.  We’re praying that God will work in us and through us on this trip to Houston as well.

The Christian and Missionary Alliance focuses on four areas of missionary work.  They are to Go, to Pray, to Give, and to Send.  This team is willing to Go, are you willing to Pray, to Give, or to Send.

You can Pray that God will help us prepare for our trip, will keep us safe on it, will allow us to do His work while we’re there – whatever that work may be.  Our team is putting together prayer cards for this trip.  Contact PJ if you want a copy.

You can Give towards the cost of this trip.  The total cost for each person is about $750 - depending on the cost of airfare.  Our team is busy raising funds through church babysitting nights where we watch a bunch of kids so parents can have a night out and contribute to the cost of the trip.  We're also doing chores in our neighborhood to raise money for the trip.  Any gift you give towards the cost of the trip is tax deductible.  Please make your check out to the Rome Alliance Church and mark “Ike Mission Trip” in the memo line.  Please send your contribution before March 25^th. 

You can be a part of the team that Sends us.  Sending really involves praying, giving, interacting with us as we prepare, keeping track of us on our trip, and checking with us when we get home.  It involves more of a personal commitment to be involved with the trip however you can.  Pray about how God can use you on this trip and respond to His leading.
