For Loneliness in Bereavement

Father, I am only human. I need the touch of human companionship. Sorely I miss those I love who are with Thee.

I pray, O Jesus, that Thou wilt reveal to me unseen presences. Help me to know how close my loved ones are. For if they are with Thee, and Thou art with me, I know that they cannot be far away.

Make real for me that contact of spirit with spirit that will re-establish the lost fellowship for which my heart yearns.

Give to me faith shining through my tears. Plant peace and hope within my heart. Point me with joy to the great reunion. But until then, enable me to live happily and worthily of those who are with Thee. In the Name of Him who is the Lord of Life, I pray, Amen.

                                  —Peter Marshall

John 14:19

Your presence is very much appreciated as we gather to give thanks to God for the life of

Frank Dombrowski, pastor & friend.

The Rev. Frank Dombrowski, Jr., 82, went to be with the Lord, Monday evening, October 15, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, with family by his side.

He was born on December 3, 1924 in Newark, NJ, the son of Frank and Helen Krucovsky Dombrowski, Sr.

Educated in Newark schools, Rev. Dombrowski attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and Newark College of Engineering.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology degree from Nyack College.

He began his ministry in 1952, and while a student at Nyack, served as pastor of the Christian Radio Home in Jersey City, NJ.

On September 6, 1952, Rev. Dombrowski and Lucille J. Thurber were united in marriage at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Corning, NY.

Rev. Dombrowski served his Lord as minister of the Marengo Chapel, Clyde, NY from 1953-54; the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Hornell, NY from 1954-1965; and Rome Alliance Church from 1965 until his retirement in 1987.  He was later given the honor of pastor emeritus of the Rome congregation.  a highlight of his ministry at the church was overseeing its construction at the current site, 920 Turin Street, in 1976.  From June 1988 until mid-2006, Rev. Dombrowski served as pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Rome.

He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Lucille, on December 17, 2002, after celebrating fifty years of marriage and service to their Lord Jesus Christ.

Rev. Dombrowski, an avid fisherman, was a devoted and much-loved husband, father, pastor, and friend, an inspiration to all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19,20 NIV).
