Bible Days Experience Town

April 28, 2004

This was the last night of Kidspiration for the 2003-2004 year.  We met in the fellowship hall where a great transformation had taken place.  Suddenly the teachers and helpers were replaced by people who had lived during Bible times.  They brought a bunch of stuff with them and they were more than happy to tell everyone who they were and what they did for a living.  There were carpenters, hunters, fishers, scribes, bakers, musicians, beggars, a Roman Soldier, those skilled at making pottery and crafts, and we actually saw Zaccheaus and the woman Jesus met at the well.

Thanks to everyone who made the Bible Days Experience Town a success - as well as those who made this year of Kidspiration such a success.  Special thanks to Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Dawes who spent hours planning and leading the program this year.

Mr. Barnard, Mr. Ward, and Jaime show how things were made out of wood during Bible times.

Mr. Barnard shows off a post he made with the tools he brought with him from Bible times.

Mr. Barnard and Mr. Ward hold the wood still so that Jamie can make a masterpiece.

Don't shave my hands with that!

Mr. Luck is hangin' in the tree as Zaccheaus with a couple of tax collectors nearby.

Mr. Luck can't be comfortable.

A bunch of Kidspiration kids listening to Zaccheaus' story.

More Kidspiration kids listening.

The tax collectors are after Zack!

Mrs. Rogers explains how people worshiped during Bible times.

Check out the neat costumes.

Mr. Milone explains Old Testament language and writing techniques.

Can you read that Mr. Milone?

A couple of beggars at the city gates.

This beggar is trying to use the patriotic approach to get some money.

This guy looks like he's in tough shape.

This beggar is hoping to get some left over dough.

I guess begging does pay off - somewhat.

Finally, somebody gave this guy a breath mint!

Mrs. Luck is telling the story of the woman who met Jesus at the well.

While her helpers are helping themselves to the water in the well.

The pottery and craft shop is open for business.

Brian is teaching others how to play the game of Dreidel.

He's so good at it he's able to take the kids tootsie rolls away from them.

This crowd is waiting in line to pay their taxes - again!

These guys are looking for something good to eat.

Kids making something in the pottery and craft shoppe.

Kathy Lee is a great helper.

Mr. Dombrowski and his helpers talk about how people hunted and fished in the days of the Bible.

It looks like they're the ones caught in the net.

Mrs. Ward demonstrates how to make bread.

Everyone wants to play with the dough.

Can we eat it now?

Jeremy and Renee help with good things to eat.  How come nobody was willing to eat those sardines or locusts?

These kids don't really want to pay their taxes.

I think this little girl is signing her life away to the mean tax collector.

Mrs. Ward is enjoying making more bread.

Pastor Jim is keeping the peace as a Roman Soldier.

Chickens like this were available at the town marketplace.

Thanks for all your help this year Mrs. Dawes!  We really appreciate you!

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19,20 NIV).
